One of my favourite bird legends is that of St. Kevin , founder of Glendalough. He was a hermit and a lover of animals and birds. One day while meditating with outstretched arms , a blackbird landed in the palm of his hand , he was so still that she build her nest and laid her egg . In an act of kindness,he remained still until the baby bird had flown .
